When major contractor Jackson Civil Engineering started on the new road widening project at Salterhebble, Halifax their sub-contractor Jagger Construction Services called on Fairfax Plant Hire to provide a 23 Tonne Case CX235C.
The task was to reduce a 12 metre high embankment to enable the road widening scheme to proceed whilst the main carriageway from the M62 into into Halifax remained open.
The 235C is a versatile and powerful excavator providing high productivity and manoeuverability in restricted conditions. This is due to the compact, counterweight boom placement. Tough conditions are overcome with the Power Boost feature that delivers added muscle. Controls include one-touch idle, and one-or two-position mode selector for the greatest productivity.
Faifax have recently invested in a number of specialist excavators with reduced tail swing, long reach boom and a narrow tracked 30T Volvo EC300. They have also added four Bomag BW219DH-5 Single Drum Rollers and a Hitachi ZX140W-6 Wheeled Excavator to their growing fleet.
